The white w/ blue wire has 12 volts ( actual reading 11.89 v)
the crank sensor is generating 2.6 volts a/c not 1.5 .
don't know how critical that is. I am getting same voltage in the wire.
not sure exactly where to put test leads to check the coil. to copmound matters the coil is damn near impossible to get to without removing the plenum again.

i HAVE INSTALLED THE NEW CAM SENSOR AS WELL AND STILL HAVE NOTHING. i AM SO FRUSTRATED AND UPSET RIGHT NOW i DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. i AM OUT OF MONEY AND OUT OF TIME AND NEED TO RETURN TO WORK ON MONDAY WITH NO CAR. I NEED A MIRACLE RIGHT ABOUT NOW.

Thank you guys for any further help you can provide.
Any chance you are anywhere the Eastern Shore of Maryland?????

thank you, Bill

Bill, did you try placing the gear shifter in another position to see if the neutral safety switch maybe it. I am lost an still looking.

yes I did,

Can you please send a copy of the whole page with the wiring schematic? or point me to a place I can download it?

thank you
Bill

That voltage at the white/blu wire MUST have battery voltage. Either the battery is low or the wire is rubbing on something to cause the reading to be lower or there is just a poor connection preventing the coil from performing. I know the weather is not being cooperative, but in order to be sure and not just hope , the voltage reading at the coil has to be verified and checked right at the coil plug. Could one of the wire terminals have been pushed out when the plug was reinserted, it does happen !!

I'm going to ask another dumb question, where did you purchase the coil?
Did you check the ground connections ? If the PCM has a poor or no ground it can't control the coil. You might even try unplugging and reinstalling the plugs to the PCM.

The voltage at the white/blue wire is consistent with the voltage at the battery terminals. Either the battery is a bit low ( from continuously trying to start it ) or my meter is slightly out of calibration. I can check the voltage at the coil but I don't know which wire I should be checking. Any advice.

DAMN is miss my older cars!!!!!! LOL

I got the coil at Autozone.
That's where I get most all of my parts.
I've never had a problem with the parts from them in the past.

the safety neutral switch activates the starting sequence by allowing the current to energize the starter so from what I am getting that part is good and working properly. from what I'm getting from all these posts on this thread it's looking like the pcm just fried and the only way to know that for sure is by replacing it. and unless as Hanky said a wire is broken or not connected good and tight then that's the only other explanation

According to the diagram, it should be the white/blu tracer wire. The same wire you are checking and got the battery voltage. I know this is a lot of trouble , but we can't keep throwing parts at this thing because it gets expensive and is a lot of unnecessary work.
By the way where did you tap into that wire to check it ?

You have enough trouble right now and don't need any addl from me regarding parts from Autozone.
I hope schroensr can manage to send the rest of that diagram over for us.
