Default 97 ford taurus cranks but won't start when engine hot

Starts up fine in the morning or after cooling down. Yesterday while running errands around town, it would crank but not turn over after the engine was hot. In the past 1-2 months, the idle has gotten a little rough sometimes (maybe when engine is hot). Sometimes felt like it might stall while sitting at a red light. Any ideas about what the problem is?

If you can do this,
When warmed up and it won't start, dump some cold water on the crank sensor. If it starts up right after that , the sensor is going south, replace it.

Do you have any way to check the fuel pressure?

hanky -- you were right, it was the crank sensor. Thank you.
