Cool Defrost wont blow heat only cold

Hey guys!!!

I got another question about my 01 taurus.

I'm trying to fix the "heater".... by that i mean, my defrost wont blow any hot air.

The heater was blowing hot air off and on from all vents... dash vents, floor vents and defrost.

I had it looked at by a a/c guy and he said the heater core is fine. The actuator blendor is out and needed to be replaced

So I replaced it and now it blows hot air through the dash vents and the floor all the time. I wont blow hot through the defrost at all now.

What should I look at next? the wires.... back to the heater core....?????

Thanks in advance!!!!

is any air blowing thru the defrost? if you have heat at the floor and dash, it's not the heater core. if no air at all(hot or cold) comes out the defrost, you have a problem with a louver or a flpper of some sort that is suppossed to move to direct the movement of the air. it also could be the control **** on the dash may be bad

yes we have cold air that comes out most of the time. sometimes it will turn luke warm but never hot.

How would i know if the switch is bad? could it be because some wires are "pinched" in the dash?

Lars... do you mean the actuator when you say "louver or a flpper of some sort"?

it's possible the actuator may be working, but the louver or flapper or blending door whatever term you use may be getting stuck part-way thru its movement. this could be caused by a foreign object in the way.

Search Youtube for blend door actuator. If a picture is worth 1000 words, how much for a video?
