I have a 2006 ford Taurus with 255, 000 in it.. I bought it with 112, 000.. I have done several tune ups to include plugs , wires & a coil pack here and there since the check engine light comes on. the last time I did this , the light came back on , only this time a converter code can along with misfire codes, replace o2 sensor at bank one and I still get a check engine light with misfire codes.. I was told by a friend who is a mechanic at a dealership , that the converter is bad and ill have to replace the y pipe since that's the only way to replace them.. what is your advice, get rid of the car ????

 

Only you know the condition of the vehicle and what you have done and what might need to be done compared to putting that money into a newer vehicle that might need some of that work, your decision, some help huh?
