Don't fret primem,
It's possibly someone trying to help without sufficient knowledge of the subject, like me!

 

Sometimes this simple little trick will work, remove both battery cables and touch the cable ends together for 10 seconds. Then reconnect them and see what you get.
That maneuver allows certain capacitors to discharge and lose their adaptive memory.
It's worth a shot and should not damage anything.
Last but not least, there could be a problem within the instrument cluster that is preventing the cluster from communicating with the rest of the system.

Its no help when the people offering this vague advice don't know which circuits to test or probably how to perform the testing.

 

I hope that you get it fixed soon. that way you'll stop griping and moaning about how people that are only trying to help. I can't help but wonder if by checking that wiring by the underhood fuse block and see if one or a few might loose or bad in some way. because you said that after you wiggled the wires it started right up

 

its ****ing annoying when people who know **** all post non-sense gibberish that makes no ****ing sense...hows that for griping.

There maybe a wiring problem but posting vague **** like "check your wiring" is useless if no focal point follows that advice. Maybe I should check every wire on the car or every ground.

the only reason anyone of us said that is this and I didn't want to come across as being dis respectful in any way. what we meant to say is check for continuity in the wiring between the battery and the alt. because most of the time the connectors become loose or they ware out from age. I know it sounds really stupid but it does happen more often than one might think. it just sounds like you have a loose connection somewhere in the wiring between the battery and the alt. or somewhere like the power dist. box.
