Default Key wont turn in ignition

Hey fellow ford enthusiasts,

I have a 1990 thunderbird I bought last june that was running fine all it needed was a tune up an a tire, and an ignition that was attempted to be stolen years prior, the previous owner did "jerry" rig the ignition with a toggle switch that needs both the key turned on and a push of the button for the engine to start aswell as a piece of wood which held up the ignition in place and there inlies my problem...the wood fell loose and the key wont turn in the ignition, ive tried jiggling/jerking the wheel while turnin the key an nothing, wheels still locked an key wont turn.
Ive been lookin this problem up non stop, part stores just dont seem to kno what im talkin about when I explain the problem and cant even tell me the part I need so I thought id come to the ford specialists.
the shroud covering the steering column is hanging off so I can see everything under the wheel,
Do u think its just the ignition switch or with my luck something simple like the ignition bracket not holding it up high enough?
I can tale pictures/video if it would help

There is a gentleman who also helps on this site that stated the fix for getting the lock cylinder out under the present circumstances. I believe it involved a hammer and punch and I think it best if he explained the procedure to you. In the meantime you can purchase a lock cylinder from an auto supply store and have it ready for installation.
Not a difficult job.

Default Just replaced my Ignition.

I have a 95 T-Bird and though i didn't have everything happen to my car that happened to this one it was just a matter of replacing the ignition switch because my key would not turn over and i had a garage do it and it cost around 90.00 bucks.
