My 99 ford e250 with a5.4 start and dies immediate I changed the fuel filter and fuel pump still the same thing fuel pressure is 35-40 psi thought was cat but never smelled and when it tries to start I do get exhaust out the tail pipe any thought help would be great thanks. Have you checked the Idle Air Control motor? If you can give it a little gas and it keep running, more than likely it is the IAC.

 

Found problem it was the sensors that are by the filter cleaned I believe its called mas or map. Cleaned and running great.
