We just met a brother of a friend of ours we didn't realise that he is a retired mechanic......he has also worked on older cars all his life now he said it sounded to him like a bad ground somewhere and he offered to take a look at it, so it's over at his place now......will up-date once he sees what's up with it.

 

Any updates of what happened with the starting circuit. I have the same problem with my Galaxie I know they had bypassed the nss

 

There are some things we just do not do and that is by-pass any safety system.
I will try to assist you with the vehicle's problem and at least pin it down to what you could do to repair it without throwing safety to the wind.
You may or may not be aware that Ford had a serious safety problem where the shift lever would jump out of park into reverse when the engine was running and a lot of people were run over including children and that is why you now must depress the brake pedal to get the vehicle out of park. Soooo,
Please if you would , provide some info as to just what the problem appears to be and any checks you did to pin down why. Thanks
