Default 87 F-250 front oil seal

How hard is it to change the front seal on an F-250 with a 300 ci six cylinder. I believe I can drop the oil pan and switch it out. Is that the best way to do it. Should I change the back one at the same time, or the oil pump while I am in there. Thanks

Which seal?? Is it the oil pan gasket, or the front crankshaft seal?? If it is the oil pan gasket, I would replace the entire gasket set. If the oil pump is original, it is your call if you want to change it. If it is the crankshaft seal, you can change that without removing the oil pan.

I'm not sure which it is. I saw a drop of oil on the front of the oil pan. I will have to clean it off and watch it and see.

Either way you go I would let the rear seal go until it's a problem unless you have a lot of miles on the motor. The oil pump I would let be too unless your dash guage (if you have) is showing a pressure drop.
