Default Bypass ac compressor Ford Mondeo estate 1.6 diesel

Hey up,
Ive recently had the pleasure of my ac compressor going south on me. It looks like someone has done a bodge job on it with an aftermarket repair on the clutch plate. It has since twisted and dropped and will occasionally catch the pulley and spin with it ,causing it to rattle. I would like to know if anyone has bypassed the AC on this model with success or am I going to be need to shell out 400-500 quid for a repair
Any advice will be appreciated

Not being able to see the set-up, you might get away with the following.

Your vehicle should have a tensioner assy that you relax the tension and you can remove/install another belt.
If you use a piece of string/rope, thread it around the pulleys by passing the A/C compressor. Try this a few times to get an average length of the belt required.
All auto supply stores have the width and length in charts and can provide you with a belt the approx length. Consider taking 3. One slightly longer , one slightly shorter and one the measurement you found.. One of them should do the job. You should be able to return the unused belts and get your $$$ back, can you do this?
