Looking for an aod trans for my 76 f150

the guy selling it thinks it's an Aod but not sure

It would help if you could provide a pix of pan and other side of trans case.

It is an AOD !

I just know you are going to remove the pan and clean it and replace the filter ,right?
You can't do any damage just carefully removing the pan ,cleaning the inside of the pan , change the filter.

That will give you some idea of the condition of the trans. Better to do it while it is out than when it is installed.

I'm going to rebuild it before install.
Do a little beefing up

You have the piston/seal lip protector set? They were easy to slice or and/or damage the seals on install without the kit.
Governors like to come loss too.,
