Question clicking noise in fuse box

I have a 2005 ford focus, and there has been a clicking noise coming from the fuse box (located right next to the steering wheel) for about 3 weeks. I got my car tuned up and fixed, but the problem is still there. It sounds like a light switch turning on and off. And when it clicks, the radio turns on and off. It gets real annoying! I haven't touched the fuse box since I got the car, so nothing is out of place. Any suggestions?

Gotta hand it to you bluewind ! Before we try to answer the inquiry seriously do you think we should ask if it is a clicking noise or a ticking noise?

Well there are about 6 relays in there, and they control many things, from the wipers, to the battery saver relay, and the horn and decklid release relay. Since you've mentioned the radio cutting out, I'd bet its the battery saver relay (it controls interior power to certain accesories), but it could be any of them. Most of these relays were known to cause problems, but so were the radios. It's a really common problem for the radio to turn on and off on its own, and the it's just a defective radio. If you could possibly try some accesories when the noise is happening, and isolate which one (or ones) don't work, it would be very helpful.

It must have been a ticking noise ... jaimelh77, are you still among us? ... Fords are a dangerous breed, people, be nice to them, or they'll click on you

Cougar: the low hanging fruit has been picked already. You've got to stretch yourself a little.
