Default Electric fans

I am installing an electric fan on my hot rod. Not knowing then about CFM I installed a fan rated at 1200 cfm which is apparently way to low for my 302 motor. The replacement fan I got is rated at 3000 cfm, but the two fans sitting side by side are identical in size and weight. In researching these things they all appear to be same size though are rated differently. what is it that makes them different?

Would comment on question, but one thing you don't need is MORE hot air , lol.
