F150 5.0L 2018 Engine Rattle
I have a2018 F150 Coyote motor that has the motor rattle, had it back to Ford dealer 4 times.Dealer flashed the computer according to the TSB but that did nothing. Took it back to dealer, they acknowledged the rattle but couldn’t do anything about it. They contacted Ford hot line and was told nothing can be done because it’s normal for this motor and will do no harm to the motor. So do I just have to put up with this? Thanks for any advice.
Did anybody determine where the rattle is coming from?
Something doesn't seem right here.
Did the engine have the rattle when the vehicle was new ? If yes, that IS NOT NORMAL.

Yes it had the rattle when I bought it with 43000 miles on it. I had it to the dealer four times when I left it over night and came back at 7am the next morning and I drove it to show the tech the rattle. He also heard the rattle so he took it into the shop to diagnose it. The rattle seems to be on the drivers side. The computer was flashed before this visit the the tech had it for a couple hours and couldn’t figure what was the source of the rattle. They text the Ford hot line and they told him the noise was normal and nothing was to be done.I have copies of this correspondence.
Is there any way you could post a recording of this rattle?
Sometimes what one person calls a rattle could be something else, until we hear just what that sound is , not smart to jump to conclusions.
Unfortunately, there times when we need to seek another opinion and that could include from another dealership too.
Somebody needs to take this problem from the beginning and do a complete check and until that is done we are shooting in the dark.

Did you try another dealership or a shop with a good reputation ?
By the time the BBB gets to provide an answer you could have a good shop provide an answer.
We suggest a dealership because they are supposed to have access to the tools, information and service bulletins, but if the person assigned the job can't come up with the cause , we just don't stop there. There is no substitute for experience and willingness to find an answer. Not all problems can be repaired confining the work to the vehicle computer.
