My Key does not turn off?

Sorry for the delay.
If you can purchase the correct (can be coded) key and have it cut at Walmart, fine.
If you don't have 2 working keys, that means will allow the vehicle to start, you can code up to 8 yourself,BUT if you don't have 2 working keys you need to go to a dealership, or a locksmith or a shop that has security clearance and can code keys to your vehicle.

I thought they are the same? Key is attached to controls like open/close locks button.

That is where the problem arose .
A key is a metal piece with knotches that when inserted and rotated causes something to happen.
A FOB is something that forwards a request to a module that relays the request to produces a desired result.
