New Engine in BRAND NEW F150
I'll try to keep this brief, but I recently purchased a band new 2018 F150 on lease from a dealership in Great Neck, NY. I purchased end of June and less than a month later I was in a parking lot, put the truck into reverse and it quit on me. Called AAA and they checked battery, that was fine so they had it towed to the dealership I leased from. A couple days go by and the dealership calls saying they are troubleshooting with Ford and have been directed to swap out the entire motor! No explanation as to why, but I assume it's something in the transmission plate and rather than fix it they want the entire motor for Q&A. Being that it was less than a month of having the truck the dealership instructed me to file a case requesting a new truck instead of same truck with replacement motor. I called CS and opened the case, a few days later a case specialist calls saying they will NOT be replacing the truck and will get back to me within a few days to see if there is anything else they can do. Two days ago I get a call from the case worker and they tell me they will give me 1 month of credit on the lease.
Am I crazy here to think that this is unacceptable and I should be fighting for a new truck instead of receiving my original truck with a brand new motor? I would think the motor swap will drive down the value, so purchasing after lease is out of the question. I am considering getting legal advice, but not sure what is within my rights.
I'm sure a catastrophic failure of this sort is extremely rare so early on, but I feel I am getting a raw deal here.
Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
P.S. I still have a loaner 3 week later and the dealership should be calling shortly to take back my truck with replaced motor, but as of now I'm still waiting...

A few questions if I may ?
There must be some reason for the engine replacement, why not get the complete story? Maybe there is more to this than what you are being told..
You might consult with someone qualified to provide legal advice.
Would appreciate if you would care to share the results regarding this situation. Thanks.
