New mirror upgrade
#2
Welcome to the site..
Not directly.
The power fold, BLIS, Puddle Lights features are in part controlled by the DDM/PDM modules (driver door/passenger door modules). Modules are MS-CAN Protocol/interfaced.
So,, just adding for the power fold (and telescoping) would involve adding the door modules, door harness/s, switches and new cover plates etc. Module programming/re assignment.
We checked some months ago into the addition of power mirrors for a 17 F250. You’d think Ford would have the components in a kit form, not.. But after checking in with parts we guesstimated the parts alone would be in the 3k range. Each mirror head was over 1k each, then the door modules, switches for the master panels and IP, trim panels, and then harness changes.. Depending on the level of features, the task is more wide spread.
Best case would be if you found a donor and were able to shop for parts. Cost may be a determining factor for some, but can be done. I believe the base power fold/extend was about a 900.00+ (No BLIS or cameras) option over standard mirrors on a new truck, hard to understand how the price can be offset so drastically within a parts base..

Thank you for the great input. What a pain, I guess I’ll just have to do without. Noticed a lot of aftermarket mirrors for around $150 each but no help on upgrading wiring, switches etc. the aftermarket folks are missing out big time on not offering the necessary kits, as well as ford. Thanks again for your input.
