Default Oil changes log stored in memory ??

Hello all,

First post -would appreciate some shared wisdom

I'm planning on buying a 2013 fusion 2.0 Eco tomorrow with 20,000 miles from the local dealer. It's a lease car they bought through auction so no maintenance history available. I'd like to know when / if the oil was changed but there's no history shown on the car fax. It seems logical that the car would store info showing when the oil monitor was reset (free info to support warranty engine claims). Do you know if this info can be pulled from the cars memory ? Or any other method?

Thanks

John

I don't believe anything past the monitor values are reset. Any previous mileage points or dates would be lost at each subsequent oil change. The monitor system works an estimate based on engine turns, RPMs, temperatures and other factors.
Most leases govern maintenance and if a company lease, those maintenance services are required by company policy (not guaranteed they happen.)

many if the oil rig pickups for lease returns at my shop come in at 15 to 20000 km with the original factory oil filter still on them.
