I have a 1998 Tauras 3.0 It will not shift out of 2nd gear.
any help would be appriciated.

 

[sm=welcomesign.gif]Does not sound good.Either you can have it towed to a trans shop or take your chance's and try to force it out of gear.I have had luck with forcing it out of gear twice before 1 with a automatic and 1 with a stick.

 

I'm not exactly sure on how you mean to force it out of gear. I have had the car up to 70 mph with shift lever in overdrive, but it still remained in 2nd gear, and it does not slip at all. does anyone know if a new throttle position sensor would help, also someone told me that there is some kind of module on the side of the transmission that could cause this, I looked for it but did not see it, does anyone know where it is located.

Sorry i thought you ment the shifter was stuck in 2nd gear.
