Thumbs up

Welcome to the site..

Charging system has been checked? After some extended driving and a out of spec system would/could drain the battery reserve..

I think Hayapower brought up a good point. The way those amp meters were wired , if the charging system put out 5amps it will show charging but the vehicle could be pulling more than 5 and the battery could get run down. If the battery cables are so, so, it could start ok when cold , but when hot they could have some hi resistance and the charging system thinks the battery is fully charged when it really is not. It would be a good idea to check just what the alt/gen is putting out. check that at the alt and battery ! Last , you could have a defective starter !

On a restart attempt,

If jumped with a set of 'good quality', heavy gauge cables to a hot donor vehicle, does the engine spin over at a normal cranking rate?

Yes even hot it will start when jumped. If not jumped you have to wait for motor to cool down before it will start.
