New to Ford - Tech Concern
I hate to admit it, but I’ve been a die-hard “Chevy guy” my whole life. I sold my 671 blown 56 Chevy about a year ago, and now I’m seriously considering picking up the 60th Anniversary Mustang in Vapor Blue. That said, I’ve got some real concerns about the massive screen and its “everything functionality.” The absence of old-school physical controls and analog gauges doesn’t exactly give me the warm fuzzies.
Like most modern tech, I believe planned obsolescence is very real. Just like your phone or favorite gadget, there will come a day when Ford stops pushing updates—and that leaves owners vulnerable in more ways than one. I’m fairly grounded and not usually an alarmist, but at $65K all-in, this is a major investment that could go south fast a decade from now.
How are you guys mentally reconciling this possibility? I work for a tech-heavy firm and have a decent grasp of how these systems evolve (or don’t), so this isn’t just me overthinking.
