I am an old widow and I intend on keeping my Taurus and thought a nice upgrade would be a Peak back up camera. Only problem can't figure out how to wire it to the backup light if I even can. Help!

I don't know if this is the answer, but Following the installation instructions

If you were to trace the color wire that presently goes to the back-up lite(s) on back to where it goes from the trunk to the front. Whatever that color wire, is the one you might consider tapping into. Until you are sure everything will work properly just remove a small piece of insulation (1/4 in)from that wire where convenient, then connect the power wire of the camera temporarily to that wire. The camera should also require a ground connection where you can connect it to any convenient place on the vehicle sheet metal. To check it out just turn the key on and place the shift lever in the reverse position (R) and see if the camera works. What do the instructions say to do?

Would it only work on the back up light then since the bulb has two filaments as I understand it.

If I'm not mistaken, could you be looking at the wrong bulb?

If you remove the entire tail light assy and remove the back up light bulb, it should be a #921 single element bulb. Is that what you have?

Keep in mind that the bulb has to have 2 wires going to it, power and ground. if the wire color bringing power to the back up light bulb happens to be, green for example, just follow that wire to a spot in the trunk where it is more convenient to tap into and try it.

You may need to use a test lite or voltmeter to determine which wire is the power supply wire. Ford most of the time uses black for ground wiring.
