About 5 months ago, my timing chain broke. We had the whole engine replaced by a garage. After they changed motor, they had to change computer due to it not having throttle. I got it back, ran fine for 2 weeks. Then it didn’t have throttle again. So we took it back to the garage. He said it was in theft mode. He changed a couple parts but couldn’t tell me what they were. He said the switch and something in the dash by the fuse box. He could not get out of theft mode even after we got a new key made. So we took it to a local ford garage and they changed the throttle body, but they can’t get out of theft mode. Can anyone help on what to do? It is a 2008 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. We tried the door key thing, cycling key, locking door and unlock with key. Ford garage said they can’t get computer to communicate with key. They gave up. But I still have a payment, and I need it to drive for work

Where is the sport track located? What level of work is this Ford dealer known for? You should NOT have a diag. fee if they failed to give you an estimate for an ACTUAL fix/repair.
