Transmission problems
I have a 1992 Ford f350, truck doesn't want to shift into overdrive, I got the transmission rebuilt and put in a new torque converter also, but its still doing the same thing. Anyone has an I idea what else it could be, I'm out of ideas.
If,,,,,,,,the trans goes into neutral when it should go into Overdrive,
There is a good possibility a lock ring has broken that holds the overdrive servo in place .
If that is the case, the trans pan has to come down and the valve body removed because pieces of the broken ring get jammed in one of the spool valves.
Not a difficult job, but also not for anyone without the facilities to do the job. You might consider a second opinion from a local trans shop or someone with Ford trans experience.
If the trans was just rebuilt , I would have the shop check it out
