I have a 1993 F-150 Super Cab 4x4 5.0L 74,785 miles. I know the truck is worth more than what book is but not sure of a fair purchase price. Wondering what you all think. Little history on the truck it was a one owner until I purchased it about 6 months ago. The previous owner go sound for the winter and truck is stored inside garage in North Dakota. When I purchased it from him I asked how the 4x4 and he never had it in 4x4. Said he has done all scheduled work at a certified Ford Dealer. I bought the truck for my son. Few months and he was involved in an accident. It wasn't a lot of damage however they did total it. I bought the truck back and had it fixed and looks great. Everything work and no know issues. Just now sure with a salvage title what it would be worth. I was hoping for $7500 and have been offered $6000. Top two are current photos and bottom one is the damage that I had fixed. I would say on a scale of 1-10 this truck is a 9 for its age.
The salvage title is a stain on possible future resales to some, but for someone wanting to drive the wheels off of it probably wouldn’t care. And, the damage was light as noted . I’ve owned that exact platform and have worked on more of them than I can count.
Great trucks, simple to work on and very reliable well built trucks.
If your not in a huge rush to sell, hold out for a bit. It’s fairly rare to see that vintage, in that shape, with low miles. I’d think a buyer would reach that price or close, but again, some will be spooked on the salvage report. But even if driven years more, the salvage title wouldn’t be a huge deal when the trucks value drops off normally due to age and mileage increases. The other thing about salvage is most lenders won’t finance a salvaged vehicle. Probably wouldn’t be a financed purchase, but even a personal/family loan etc may raise an eyebrow.
What’s the interior look like?
But my .02, a very nice truck, and given the values SC, CC’s 4x4’s command today, a thousand or so wouldn’t be an over reach.
