Post Any ideas as to the problem. 2000 taurus

2000 ford taurus 100000 miles. was driving 70 on the freeway car just died. pulled over and found radiator cap was broken replaced cap now wont start. no oil in coolant or coolant in oil, has spark has pressure in the fuel rail, turns over but no ignition. car did not overheat. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the system filled with coolant now?
Start by checking all the fuses with a test light if available.
Both locations--under the hood and in the car.

all fuses good all fluids good. it seems like the pcm went into a safemode when the radiator lost pressure at speed and killed the engine to prevent damage. any ideas if thats a possibility? and if so how to fix it?

Yes it is a possibility. I don't have experience with it, though. I would disconnect the battery negative cable and step on the brake for 5 seconds. This will drain all voltage of all computers and reset them.
If this doesn't revive the engine I would give it a compression check. The Vulcan engines are designed to survive 5 minutes of limp mode driving without coolant.

Good luck!

Tried unhooking the battery and pressing the break tried unhooking the battery for 24 hours to no result, pressure tested the front 3 cylinders and the cooling system nothing out of the ordinary. friend suggested draining the cooling system because maybe a head leak was saturating the plugs and then try starting it, ive seen no sign of coolant in the heads but am gonna give it a shot tomorrow. any last minute ideas?? if I cant fix it by tomorrow im sending to the ford dealer and will post there findings... thanks for the help.

Now that its figured i shoulda known what it was. Didnt overheat, stopped running at freeway speed, would crank but not start, good compression, good fuel pressure, good spark, good fluids, 100000 miles... Broken timing chain...mechanic said ill have it back tomorrow. Thanks for all the help everyone
