2002 Windstar ABS light Problem
I have owned a 2002 Ford Windstar since it was new. It now has 156,000 miles and it and is still running strong. It recently developed an ABS Break problem that was random. It would come on while driving. I cleaned and reinstall all of the ABS sensor. I started the vehicle after each sensor service to check the light. After Servicing the right rear it turned the lights off. Problem fixed right! Wrong with in 2 days the problem returned. So assuming the right rear sensor was marginal, I replaced it. Still did not fix the problem. Then I remembered that computers are very sensitive to voltage drops. So I clean and serviced the battery terminals and noticed the negative cable clamp was broken. I replace the cable and to my surprise the problem is fixed. If your having this problem, you might want to check the tightness of your battery cables. This is why it came on when driving or hitting a bump.

GranDads, thanks for the suggestion about the battery cables! I have noticed my ABS brake light also goes on randomly when I hit a bump. I'll check the battery cable, but it could also easily be that it jiggles another electrical connection or component instead.
Apparently there is a known problem with the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) ECM (Electronic Control Module) (2C219) module. Check out the link below. This was also related to a recall.
