Default exhaust size

Going to install new dual exhaust on my 351c in my 62 Wagon
The engine makes right at 300 HP per dyno when she was rebuilt

I'm looking at 2" or 2.25" with no X pipe

And the HP might go up another 50HP...
Any thoughts?
Best

I'd go the larger pipe for less restriction and more flow.
OE manifolds, or headers? What muffs are you going with?

2 1/2 with a x pipe or balance pipe and a set of Magna Flows would work great. Sounds nice and sweet at ldle and low speeds, but punch it and it will talk to you.I tryed the FlowMasters and they were so loud and made a real loud drone on the freeway. Roger

Not sure if this even applies, but if there are any particular state requirements for emission inspection, would no back pressure in the exhaust present some problems where certain emission requirements could throw a monkey wrench into the works ?
