Default 2007 e350 electrical gremlins/roof sealing

Hi there! Bought a 2007 E350 15 passenger with basically all highway miles (180k), I am the third owner. It is very clean and has been decently maintained, starts and runs like a champ. Would drive across country right now I am planning to seal the roof, change fluids, maybe even look into the dreaded 5.4 spark plug change, but for now there's some creature comforts I want to get working. Fuses are all good.

- The locks all work manually but do not work off the driver or passenger side door switch, but the windows controls on both sides work. It is the OEM wiring to the window switches and there is no corrosion/rot. I have never heard these solenoids fire ever. I have not checked the door accordion cable because I can't get the cover off without busting it seemingly and all of the wiring looks fine.
- The steering wheel buttons, all cruise control, do not work. My brake light switch is functioning as it should and brake lights are working like normal. I understand sometimes the sensor underneath the brake fluid reservoir needs replacing and mine definitely appears old but no leaking. I know some say clockspring but my horn and signals and everything all work.

Think about whatever these may be before the following info: there is a CM-900 aftermarket system installed. I received two non oem fobs that correspond to the system that do not function and did not function for a while before I bought it. Fuses for OEM lock system were missing so replaced those before I knew this computer was there. Post fob battery replacement one seems to have a fried board (liquid damage?) and the other one the light flashes to one or two button presses but also doesn't seem to work/dies immediately. I had no idea this was installed at the time I bought it but whatever. I go outside one day after having driven it <1 hr before and it is running... doors locked, ignition in off position. Text the old owner and he says yes I did have autostart installed, prompted by the key. My girlfriend had a key/fob in her pocket so maybe it gave its dying breath to autostart it? Condition hasn't occurred since as far as I can tell.

Began poking around with the wiring to try to get at least lock functionality back, moved white/pink and green/pink (supposedly the lock/unlock wiring) in the main loom going into the ignition back to OEM wiring and it did not make driver or passenger side work. There is also a little module spliced into some brown/red wires near the door jamb (lock wiring from door loom?) with no info on it. There are two sets of fuses coming off of the computer two large green 30 two blade fuses and one large red and one large blue installed in the little offshoot module. When I fully unplug the computer but leave the plug in the ignition (wires from CM-900 still installed) the car won't start. I put everything back the way I found it and cars starts and runs great. Can't tell if the car is in valet mode or not but have tried everything in manual to get it out of valet if that is the case but that does not seem to make a difference. Fobs still dead.

Should I:
- Fully uninstall CM-900 wires on ignition wiring and put them back to OEM and see if that works and ride myself of the system
- try and diagnose the CM-900 and see whats wrong (i have no software or scan tools or anything just typical hand tools)
- buy new cm-900 fobs and see if I can get them to program
- Call/Take it to the shop that installed it and see what they say (only problem with this is I am disabled right now and have basically $0)?

I want functioning interior door lock switches and cruise control out of this whole ordeal. I don't really care about remote start or having fobs, but it would be nice to have if easy.

Also, What should I use to seal the roof rail to stop the leaking? I am aware this is a common problem and I am willing to take the time to prep correctly to only have to seal it once, theres a leak by the front windshield and one near the passenger rear (both I have seen on many of these vans) its not too bad yet but needs done to prevent it from getting worse.

TIA, thanks for reading unmarked

Not familiar with the system you mention, but I have found when someone installed a system or had it installed and now we have problems with it , either have the installer check it out which will cost $$$ or remove it and go back to original, if possible. There is no easy way out on this..

Now we know why they sold it. .
I suspect there may be a broken wire in the area where the driver's side door opens and closes in that hinge area.

Not a job for someone that cannot get in there and work in tight quarters. There is a right way and wrong way to temporarily stop the leak. Temporary soft sealer to be removed at a later date, will work, but is not the better solution..

When we don't have much choice, we do what we must do at the time .
