Default 2012 e150 turn signals flashing fast

I have a 2012 e150 and the turn signals flash fast, I changed all the bulbs and checked for loose grounds and didn’t find anything. From my understanding there isn’t a flasher relay? So what controls the turn signals?
also, I don’t have leds.

yes all the bulbs work, but left side and right side blink fast when I turn them on. Hazards blink normally.

Did you use the exact replacement bulbs? Sometimes a different bulb accidentally installed will cause this.
Yes, all bulbs on exterior of van work. Used exact replacements. Turn signals have always been fast since I’ve owned it.

That was my exact thought as well, but some people are saying 2012 Econolines do not have a flasher. If it does I have no idea where it is at, I’ve looked and looked with no results. Autozone looked it up and according to their system the van is supposed to have one.

Don't know about 2012, but on some the flasher is up behind the speedometer hidden in the dash. Some of the books suggest you pull the instrument cluster to access them.

Check close to the passenger side of the steering column, some were mounted there so a slight clicking could be heard going thru the column. I don't know why they did this , but I have found some mounted with another relay or two and didn't expect to see two mounted so close together..
If you purchase the correct flasher (Electronic) , that will help give you some idea what you are looking for.
ok so, I took the cluster out nothing behind there. also read possibly behind radio, nothing there. I unplugged the cluster so the electronic flasher noise would stop to see if I could hear a relay flasher anywhere. I heard one but it’s for trailer turn signals. If I unplug that the turn signals still work. Other than that no other relay flasher clicking sounds. I also have looked for something that looks like the flasher relay I have bought. Nothing looks like that that I have found.

It appears I have given you some inaccurate info.
The signal lights are controlled by the smart junction box .
The problem requires the SMJ to be replaced /reprogrammed. You will most likely need to have a dealership take care of the problem since they will have the equip for the job.
