Default 2013 e350 Van. Wrench light on. Almost got stuck in park.

Wife drove 1.5 hr away last night. When leaving Van was stuck in park for little while. She waited a few minutes and then it went into drive. Halfway home wrench light came on. Nothing unusual with the drive home. I’m going to run a code scanner today and change oil. Could it mean it’s time for an oil change? Has anybody else had this issue?NOT EXPERIENCED WITH AUTO REPAIR. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Oil changes at the right time and with the correct oil are important, but hardly ever cause an engine to shut down unless the oil has leaked out.

If you can , post the codes , if any, and possibly, we may be able to suggest what to consider next, OK ?

Default Got it scanned.

I got it scanned. No codes popped up. When I drove it today wrench light did not pop on. Guy at advance auto said I should bring it to dealership for tests. Van does not seem to be running any different than usual. It went right into drive. No further issues yet.

Wrench light does throw a code but you need an advanced scanner with ford non obd II system cide reading capabilities. The wrench light typically is druve train issues.
