Advanctrac fault direction
Good day all. I had posted a month ago or so regarding an advanctrac fault on my E350 chassis on a Pleasure Way camper van. The fault was somewhat intermittent. The fault has now come back full time, and the fault code indicates a bad ABS control module.
from my reading it appears that the ABS module consists of a module (electronics) and the modulator (valve body and pump motor). The price of the part is hefty. I have tried cleaning and resetting the connector, with no help.
can i replace just the electronics or do i have to replace the components as a set? With this sort of failure, if i can replace the parts individually, which one would you recommend?

You may not need to replace the assy until you verify the assy has good power and ground connections.
Many times the connections get cleaned in the process of replacing when that was the only problem.
If both are present, then you might consider replacing the entire unit. You may require a scan too to open the valves to get any air introduced, out of the ABS.

I did really clean the connection with contact cleaner. It worked until i turned the car off, but came back at next start. Since then i have tried re-cleaning, but no help. It behaves like an electrical fault.
Hanky, i have an update.
I was able to locate a wiring print for the anti-lock brake system. I verified all power thru to the abs module. I confirmed that both all the fuses were intact and that the wiring between fuse and abs module connector were good. I also verified ground through the connector. It looks like a bad module. Do you think this is an accurate conclusion?
if so, can i replace the module without any concern, or does it require programming?
