Can you try this?
~Turn headlamps on and attempt to start the engine.

Watch what the headlamps do.
They may go out, go dim, or do nothing/
What they do can tell us what to check next..

The lights didn't change , so there is no problem with the battery or connections

There is a problem with the starter itself or the security system.. Do you have another working key to try? Sometimes a key will lose it's coding and a second working key , which we should always have, will answer that question. If the second key produces no change and the security lite goes out after you turn the key on, I would confine my efforts to the starter motor..Sometimes a TAP, not hard blow, to the starter will allow it to operate one or two more times. It is worth a try, let us know how you make out, thanks.
