Mileage= 72,900. When I started it the other day, white smoke and a burning rubber smell came from the engine. My local ford dealership just informed me that the A/C compressor is contaminated and must be replaced. They quoted me $6,700 to replace it! I've asked Ford to cover this as a defect. We'll see what they say. Has anyone else heard of this?

 

Something doesn't seem right here,
For that kind of $$$$, I would get a second and even a third opinion.
