Default Escape 2013 Gas consumption

Hello Everyone,

I'm reaching out to you today cause I have bought a used Ford escape SEL 2013 4WD ecoboost 2.0, what's weired with it, is that when I fill the tank, the car only makes me run 300km and tank is empty,

when I make a new trip to see the instant consumption of gas, I see it going from 16L/100kn to 18L, on the highway using the regulator, it's at 11 to 12L/100km,

when the car is not moving I can even see the number of kilometer to gas station reduce,

I mostly drive in city, but, I'm I the only one finding it weired that the car only runs 300km when tank is full ?

I took it to the garage he took it for a drive and told me everything seemed normal to him. but in my opinion it's not,

I know the way of driving might have an impact, but I'm not the guy who puches the maximum at a greenlight, I drive economically and reduced the maximum my accelerations to see if that changes, but nothing helps,

Thank you all for you help,

Abdou.

I don't want you to get the wrong idea, but I think your shop is taking more than your vehicle for a ride

With a few years of experience I have NEVER determined why a vehicle was using more fuel than usual by just taking it for a ride.

A good diagnosis will involve using a scan tool of high quality and examining the data stream info to HOPEFULLY come up with a possible cause.

Was this done?

He said "he made a scan to control the ratio between the air and the gas going to the engine and it was ok"

but I can't believe it's ok for a car to run 300km with 57L of gas in it's tank,

We don't know all the things we should know. Was the mileage always like this, and when did it start to get worse?

It might be time to try another shop.

I just have no idea, I bought the car a 110 000km, and since I bought it, it has been that way,

and since I'm new in the city/country, I wanted first to make sure that this is not normal before spending a lot of money on shops that might tell me that all seems ok and just get paid

I would want to see where the fuel trims are at to determine how efficient the engine is running. Engine RPM to see if the transmission is slipping. Also the tires are properly inflated and the brakes are not dragging.
