Default Escape Cooling Fan Assembly-DIY or no?

I believe the cooling fan assembly in my V6 2010 Escape is going to need to be replaced very soon (makes a horrible noise intermittently, esp. when it idles). I've searched forums & youtube, but haven't found any good instructions on replacing the fan assembly (assuming it isn't a relay/pcm/electrical issue). I'm pretty poor, so I'd like to try to replace the assembly myself. Is this something an average person should attempt? I'd like to avoid the mess of removing the radiator hoses; is it possible to pull the fan assembly that way? Any advice? Thanks!

The majority of the time you will need to remove at least the upper radiator hose from the radiator and move it aside so you drain out a little coolant to just below the hose connection,
