loss of antifreeze
We know a dealership can get you a rebuilt head . A store like NAPA usually can obtain one for you. A phone call is the easiest way to do that.
They should also be able to supply you with just about all the parts you .should need.
If they can't, the dealer parts dept. should be able to come up with the needed parts.

ok i'm back. rebuilt the head, replaced all the water things. water pump. water cross over hose, thermostat, a bunch of solenoid's. started the car. she purrs like a kitten. then 5 minutes into idling, it says low coolant and shuts down. i purge all the water lines with water to make sure everything was flowing. start it up after it cools down. purrs like a kitten. i run a battery test. the test says the battery is bad. after it heats up, the car goes into over heat mode and shuts down. i feel the coolant lines. one line going into the radiator is hot. the lines going into out of the cab are hot. one line to the radiator is cool. a bunch of lines in the front of the engine are cool. it's like the selenoids are not working. i would think all the coolant lines should be warm or hot. and this is not the case. is this because of a bad battery? or for some reason the selonoids are not getting the signal to open or close. can someone give me a clue what to do? i am at a loss. i did have the scanner on. no new codes. just the permanant P1299. please help!!
A quality rebuilt head would have been checked for cracks.
Not knowing all the history, hope you didn't rebuild a faulty head.
Cyl head temp sensor is producing the code. Sensor could be malfunctioning , air could be trapped in engine head,
When the engine is running, compression can be getting into cooling system through the cracks,, triggering an overheat condition.`
Hope you are not back to square one, starting all over again.!
