Ford EscortThis compact car is still commonly seen on the road today with its economical engine and small body, makes for a great daily commuter into the crowded city.
I'm back. Thanks heiko. I WILL just follow the circuit numbers. And big thanks for matching up the output pins for me
All this was/is an attempt line up all the material needed to relocate the TFI on my Escort to a cooler location.
I just went through another TFI 'failure' R&R, only to discover that the TFI was "good", and when placed back on the distributor (as a test) proved to be completely operable. The distributor itself was replaced (along with a new PIP, about a year ago). I hate these things...
If you have any computer case fans laying around, why don't you just try to ziptie 1 fan for inlet (blow toward any vent) and the other for outlet (blow away from the heatsink or wherever gets hot the most), just like a lot of people do this for their amplifiers in their cars. If you want better fans you can search "cross-flow fan", aliexpress sells that 5 times cheaper than amazon Stinger cross-flow fan. Wiring is simple just hook it up to a switched power source.
It is always a smart move to put a fuse in the power wire to any addl equip.
The closer to the place you are taking the power from, the better.
If the source of power is the ign sw. ,the fuse would blow before disabling your vehicle with no ign power.
The size fuse would depend on how much the fan pulls when operating.
An after thought,,,,, you were using "Heat Sink Compound" when installing that ICM onto the dist earlier ? Usually comes with a new Module. Just curious.
