Default locked Expedition shutting off

I have a new Expedition EL (King Ranch). Wanting to know if this vehicle will keep running if I exit and lock with the keypad on the outside. I have been unable to find an answer to this question. Thanks in advance for anyone's input.

Welcome to the site..
Don't see why it wouldn't. How long are you planning on leaving it idle/unattended?

If it is a brand new vehicle, you may not be able to lock the doors with any keys left in the vehicle. That is a new feature to prevent accidentally locking the keys in the vehicle.
It can also tell you if there is an extra key left in the vehicle.

I can lock my 2015 F-150 Lariat while running with the keypad. The horn will beep when the vehicle doesn't detect the FOB. Can also lock it with keypad while the FOB is in the truck. It might allow that as it only sees one FOB. Haven't tried it with both FOBs in the truck. I will have to try that next time I go to AZ. With the window down of course...

I can also lock the doors with the keypad with the key in the ignition and engine running on our 2016 Fusion.
