Hello people I have a 49 shoebox can’t figure out why my brake lights stay on I’ve pulled up on the brake pedal they stay on when I turn the headlights on the driver side brake light turns off passenger stays on wiring looks good any suggestions? T

Remember backing one of them the first time, couldn't understand why it kept going into the fence in the driveway. Because the tail end is curved, throws you off until you learn not to use the very rear to judge. lol.
Getting back to your question,
One of the parking lights, in the rear, is using the brake light system for a ground.
I have only seen this twice, but sometimes the parking light element in the 1157 bulb will break off and contact the brake light element in the bulb and cause the brake lights to work with the parking lights on.

Thanks I’ll check out the grounds and change out the bulbs and inspect the light sockets
