Default Struts and shocks

Took 2016 f-150 to shop to check alignment. I had noticed the it felt a little 'off'. Kind of 'floaty' (don't think that's a technical term) or maybe a slight tendency to 'wander'. Truck has 65K miles. They said alignment, bushings, tie rods, etc. were all good, but said I needed new struts and shocks. Does that seem reasonable for a vehicle with only 65K miles. 2WD. Some driving on gravel roads, but they are in pretty good condition. Tires rotated and balanced a few thousand miles ago. Just trying to tell if I'm being sold. Thanks.

Shocks will not do anything to solve a wandering problem. Struts can influence response on bumpy roads but usually have little if any effect on a wandering problem.
Don't forget rear suspension looseness can affect straight ahead driving especially when the throttle is depressed.

Different tires can have an effect on vehicle control.

I would have someone look again at the ball joints and tie rods. Even with 65k, it's not that uncommon to have loose suspension parts since there's likely no grease fittings to lubricate the joints.Ball joints specifically can cause some wander especially after hitting a bump. Shock and struts are an easy money maker for shops and they often push those items since its a quick repair.
