Default 54 y-block 239ci

any thoughts on my 1954 f-100 239 on my way to a car show about 10 miles from destination i started losing power down to 35 -40 when i got there oil pressure and engine temp fine ,changed inline fuel filter at car show left and had 20 tops for speed had to have a trlr come pick me up since i have replaced inline filter if is fuel it has to be after that so go to sediment bowl ???? any thoughts would be highly appreciated i ran out of gas to start my day off 2 miles from home learned alot about my fuel gauge LOL, now before anybody says old fuel tank never know etc. a new fuel tank put in at restoration . 1700 miles on new tank .................thank you

Have you considered your fuel pump? It could be tired (stretched diaphragm) and not pumping enough fuel.

thanks , yesterday i worked on my 54 and checked all fuel things to the carb including the fuel pump it seemed to be pumping fine i had some one crank the engine while i held the fuel line in a little bucket to see how much it was pumping and now the truck wont start ,was running tho ruff when backed in seems weird????? not sure now .....................

This may or may not apply.
Depending on what the carb needle and seat are made from, if rubber, and the needle was never changed to accommodate unleaded fuel the rubber swells and gives a false float reading (shuts off fuel too soon) That can shut off fuel almost entirely. Just thought I would mention that.

anybody put in a power steering kit on a 1954 f-100 lately i see their new electric ones now...... any info would be helpfull on brand and what pump and reservoir etc. ,,,,,,,,leaning towards the 400 series kit from classic performance products .............??????????????????
