fuel system
i have a 1988 ford f250 351 v8 and i have a single fuel tank and my fuel reservoir cracked but i can't find a replacement but can i use a dual tank setup in its place even though i don't have a 2nd tank. thanks
Yes 1 in tank and 1 on frame rail
The info I have does not show that set up for F series. It does show it for E series and Ranger.
All the reservoir does is to insure a constant fuel supply, maybe if the tank is near empty it would help. I see no other good reason for it on the vehicle in question.

Don't forget you need to have a return from the fuel pressure regulator back to the fuel tank..
I believe there were 2 lines going to the reservoir and 2 lines coming from the reservoir.
One line from the in tank fuel pump to the reservoir , one line from the reservoir to the hi press pump then one line from the fuel press regulator to the reservoir and one from the reservoir back to the fuel tank..
Make sure this is what you have presently.
I cannot suggest altering anything from original.
Were you able to get anywhere with Vintage Parts Inc ?
