If I recall correctly, which is not too often, the box and steering tube were one unit. Is this what you have?
Column shift had separate tube, yes /no ? If you can't supply any pix describe the best you can what is presently in there and what you want to install. New or refirb ?

To remove, you will need to disconnect the steering linkage from the steering box assy.
You may need to remove the arm (Pitman arm) from the sector shaft (stub that comes out of the side of the steering box). There are alignment lines that must be lined up on installation..
Unbolt the steering box from the chassis and remove the steering wheel and attaching fasteners inside the vehicle and lower the assy down and out from the bottom of the vehicle. There should be 1 or 2 plugs that will need to be disconnected for signal lights and horn. If you don't have detailed directions , I would suggest you write down every step as you remove the inside connections so you can reinstall everything exactly as removed. COMPARE THE TWO ASSYS TO INSURE THEY ARE EXACTLY THE SAME.BEFORE ATTEMPTING INSTALLATION.
There should be a bearing assy at the top of the steering tube. Be careful to keep that clean and covered when installing.
