Exclamation Help! Me! Please!

I just got finish putting a 1983 Lincoln town car engine (302) in my 4cyl 1989 Mustang. I have the distributor, the starter, ignition solinoid and the coil hooked up and when I turn the key over nothing happend's. It wont bump unless I put a screwdriver between the 2 terminals on the solinoid or hook the starter to the battery and then it just spins over and sound's like it is'nt gitting fire. So now I"m trying to wire a push button start switch but I dont want to mess anything up and I cant find anyone on-line that has done this to a Ford. So if anyone knows a way for me to wire this without makeing my car F.U.B.A.R. than, can you please help me? I can read diagrams or you can just tell me to run a wire to this and then to this and I'll figure it out. Dont worry about a kill switch just please help me find a way to bump it from the inside of the car. The strange thing is that the key worked when the 4cyl was in there and the lincoln engine would bump over and run like a song when it was in the lincoln. I know I'm new and yall have better things to do than to help some dumb 17 year old but PLEASE I BEG OF ANYONE TO HELP ME!!!!!! You can contact me on-line at Moparguy1987@yahoo.com or post it or whatever you do to reply to a forum. Oh, and I'm trying to sell the 2.3L Mustang engine and transmission, there is nothing wrong with eaither and I just put in a new high-volume oil pump in it before i took the engine out. The engine a transmisson both have less than 98,000 miles on them and have been re-built, by me with mid-class level parts. Thank you, your new brother at rachet's, Mike

You went from a 4 cylinder to a V8 so you may have to change the ECU. I don't know if this is the problem or not, because I've never done anything similar, but just a thought.
