I have a 03 ranger edge and when I accelerate to pass, the engine seems to lose power or hesitate. It only does it when the engine revs high. could my injectors be dirty? I've put new plugs and wires and even a new belt and tensioner. After cleaning the map sensor it did get somewhat better.

I replaced the air filter. I'm gonna check fuel filter tomorrow. I would think if it was the fuel filter it would be a constant lack.

Not always, enough fuel may be getting through for low demand , but not enough for increased demand.

Sounds like a vacuum leak to me. Check all hoses for possible leaks. Perform a smoke test if needed.
