my 98 ford taurus has a little problem about not starting. This is an intermediate problem. When i had a scan done on it it said theft detected, so the alarm system was making the fuel pump shut down, came to the conclusion it had to be key,by the way i do not have key fob for it, so replaced the key worked for 3 days and then it was doing the samething, not starting all the time. I'm at a stand still, I work for a parts place, I know alot of techs, but they are scratching there heads, can i9t really be a fuel pump going bad, because this has been happening for awhile now?

any help would be appreciated

 

Instead of playing hunt and poke, might be a good idea to have someone check the vehicle and confirm if it is a spark or fuel related problem.
