Default 02 explorer v6 4.0 transmission has no gears after it warms up

so heres the story, its a quicky!its a 2002 ford explorer v6 4.0 non sport trac...when i start it it is ok and has all gears but after it warms up or 5 or so minutes of driving it quickly looses the ability to go into any gear...no rev drive 1,2,or nothing...i pulled the plug on the side of the tranny and filled it...it was a quart low...and i did that while the truck was running and on level ground...what should i be looking for...i have another tranny to swap it out but it would be senseless if it were the torque convertor...just looking for some input,THANX! Lj

no trouble codes either...of course

oh,ive looked at other threads but none are like my issue...other threads consist of no second or 3rd gear shifting,or no function at all or no function until warm...mines the opposite...it functions until its warm

There is an EPC (electronic pressure control) solenoid that could be malfunctioning.
Several inputs are supplied to the PCM(powertrain control module--computer) that influence control of the EPC solenoid. Sometimes the pump assy decides to go on vacation and not work.
