Default 2000 Taurus Transmission Leak

This transmission has been leaking for like a month. It would occasionally leak a little, stop leaking completely, but this weekend it went completely out. Pour fluid out as fast as i could put it in. I have had on my uncles post lift right after it started occasional leak and the only thing i saw is there is like a rubber seal or dust cover underneath the engine, (tranny) and i could see that there was transmission fluid leaking from the rubber whatever it is. This car only has like 75,000 on it.
Thank anyone who can give me some information on this issue.

Without actually being there to see, I would suspect a leaking torque converter seal.
If that is the case the trans will need to be removed and a new seal installed.Might be a good idea to have the trans fluid and filter changed at the same time.
