Default 2006 F-150 transmission output tailpiece

I was wondering if there is a specification for the transmission output shaft play where it connects to the first U joint. I replaced the output shaft bushing in the tail of the transmission. Before I put the bushing in, I slid it on the output shaft to see how tight it was. I thought it was fairly tight and measured each part separately to determine there was only a few thousandths of play. Once I put it back together I put a dial indicator on the flange right by the U joint which is maybe 3" from the bearing area. I measured about .030" of play if I grab the shaft and move up/down and side to side. I am sort of thinking that the output shaft spline area may be worn a bit. Thinking perhaps a tailpiece replacement would be good. Does anyone have a specification for this measurement or experience with it? The output shaft diameter is consistent and measures the same over the length where it would touch the bushing.

Excessive play will cause the shaft to wobble, creating excessive wear and vibration. 0.030 seems excessive. There is a bushing in the tail shaft which could be worn.

Will that amount of ply affect the longevity of the output shaft seal?
